This new cookbook is a sequel to the original Seafood Secrets, which was published in 1990 and has since sold over 45,000 copies. The recipes, all of which were gathered from Mystic Seaport Members, vary by chapter from "Martini Bait" (appetizers), to "The Big Catch" (entrees), to "Light The Fire" (grilling). Other chapters focus on lobsters, soups, pasta, and side dishes. Each recipe was selected and tested by Ainslie Turner, restauranteur and editor of the original Seafood Secrets. Some unique dishes in this new book are Block Island Oyster Bites, Seven Seas Christmas Stew, Great Salt Pond Scallop Skewers, and Charles W. Morgan Clam Pie. Another unique feature of the book is the whimsical artwork of Sally Caldwell Fisher, which is peppered throughout.
