The beginning of the famed Cabot Trail, a 200 mile long breathtakingly beautiful scenic drive along the perimeter of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Fast moving rain clouds sweep across the Island leaving wet roads, the smell of fresh rain, and the sparkle of rain drops on the wild hay. A subtitle for this painting is "The Shadow Of The House Across The Road". MacKay's grandfather, a member of the Nova Scotia Parliament, was the chief engineer and surveyor in the 1900's, when the Cabot Trail was made more passable for vehicles.1000 S/N. On 100 LB.
