All Bells are heavy, solid molded brass, mounted on the finest

occasionally be apparent.

"Belsnickel" which means "Trickster in Furs" comes from a
Christmas tradition originating in the German Swiss Alps, where
villages were visited around the holidays by a legendary character
dressed in ragged furs decorated with small bells and sprigs of
holly. He carried a switch, and a bag of treats, and dispensed one
or another depending on youngsters behavior over the past
year.
Like many other customs and traditions brought to Colonial
America by immigrants, so was the legend of the Belsnickel.
The use of Sleigh Bells dates back to 15th Century Europe as a
"warning" that a horse-drawn vehicle or sleigh was careening your
way!-And of course over the years they are associated with St.
Nick's reindeer, gift-giving, and the Holiday
Season.
